Tourette Syndrome: Comprehensive Behavioral Interventions for Tics. Presented by Robert Zambrano, Psy.D.

This 90 minute presentation will focus on being able to diagnose, assess, and treat tic disorders. We will review the Yale Global Tic Severity Scale (YGTSS), an assessment tool used in treatment. We will also learn about conducting and utilizing a functional assessment of tics. We will learn the basics on how to use Habit Reversal Training (HRT), an empirically supported treatment for tic disorders. HRT teaches clients awareness of premonitory urges to engage in tic behaviors and to suppress tics when these urges are detected. This is taught to clients via competing response training.
