If your anxiety symptoms are interfering with your functioning in any way, or robbing you of your quality of life, then you might want to consider therapy.
If you are having trouble sleeping or eating, or your symptoms interfere with your ability to fulfill your responsibilities or enjoy your life, then therapy will most likely result in significant reduction, or sometimes even elimination, of symptoms.

Our staff uses evidence-based treatments in our areas of expertise. All of our therapists are experts in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and because we focus on treating specific psychological disorders, we have a great deal of experience in doing what we do best.
Our job is to teach you skills that will help you manage your challenges effectively and learn how to take care of your psychological needs on your own. Our goal is to get clients to graduate from therapy feeling confident that they can maintain improvement using what they learned in therapy.
Our staff is made up of dedicated and caring professionals who are passionate about helping others. We have advanced training and various certifications in our areas of focus. In fact, we pride ourselves on being an organization that is accredited by the American Psychological Association to provide Continuing Education credits to other therapists who would like to learn how to provide the kind of expert-level treatment that we are known for.
-
The length of time in treatment can vary depending on a number of variables. Research indicates that most clients experience a significant reduction in symptoms within 10-15 sessions, but of course, because every individual is unique, no one can guarantee results.
Much also depends on the work put in by the client in between sessions. All in all, we have every reason to believe that you will be feeling much better in a reasonable amount of time and that you will continue to do well for a long time to come.
-
Your first appointment will be 60 minutes long. During this time, your therapist will work on finding out about your presenting complaints, making the right diagnosis, and determining if there are any other existing problems.
We will provide education on how CBT works and try to provide some specifics on what therapy might look like for you.
-
Our staff is made up of caring professionals who are experts in delivering evidence-based treatments. To be able to do a good job at this, however, we try our best to provide a therapy environment where you feel respected and that your input is heard.
We feel confident that all of our staff are great at what they do and work to establish a strong connection with trust, respect, and communication. Sometimes it might take a few sessions for you and your therapist to establish a good connection, so we always encourage clients to be patient with the process.
Ultimately, we can always discuss transferring to another therapist who might be a better fit for you.

You should give it a try and see where things go. Part of your therapist's job is creating a sense of trust where you know that it is safe to share anything, your privacy is respected, and you won’t be judged.
Your therapist understands that it can take courage to share but will help you find the confidence to believe that you can do it. We know that therapy can make a really big difference if you work together in a collaboration that includes openness, respect, and trust.
-
Yes. By law, your therapist is required to maintain confidentiality. We are required to get written permission to speak with anyone outside of the therapy session about you, and you can revoke that permission at any point.
We do believe that it is important to talk with individuals who might play a role in your therapy. This could be a psychiatrist, a family member who could benefit from understanding what you are going through, a school teacher, etc. However, we can’t do this without your permission, and we are happy to explain to you why we might want to be in touch with someone about your treatment.
The only circumstance where we are required to break confidentiality is if you tell us that you have plans to hurt yourself or others or if you are a minor and someone is doing physical harm to you. In those circumstances, we are required by law to report this to ensure your safety and the safety of others. To be clear, we do not report if someone is having or has had thoughts of harming themselves or others. We are only required to report if a person has a plan to do harm or is a minor who is experiencing some form of abuse.
-
We do not currently have medication prescribers on staff but would be happy to help you with a referral if you would like. If you are currently on psychiatric medication we consider it best practice for us to consult and communicate with your prescriber.
-
Yes. However, we typically don’t work with children under the age of 8 and when we do it should be expected that the parents will play a very large part in the treatment.
-
If you have a question about administration issues, someone from our administrative staff will get back to you with any questions or concerns you may have.
For clinical questions or scheduling, you and your therapist can communicate directly. However, please remember that your therapist is not on call, and we do not guarantee that your therapist will get back to you right away.
Most clinical questions can be answered during your session, and it is at your therapist's discretion as to when they will reply and how much will review with you between sessions.
-
We require 24 hours notice for cancellations or you would be charged the full fee for your session.
-
Like many specialists in our field, we do not take insurance. However, most major insurances have out of network benefits and will reimburse you for a significant portion of what your fee.
