Some mental health practitioners work independently. Here are some of the many reasons we choose to work together!
Retain the freedom of an independent practice
Choose how you work.
You have the freedom to work remotely, in-person, or a combination of the two.
Choose what you do.
While we primarily see individual clients, you have the opportunity to supervise Postdocs if you are interested and are eligible, and you also have the opportunity to run groups (virtually or in the office).
Choose when you work.
You have the ability to build an extremely flexible schedule.
Choose who you see.
While all of our practitioners see clients of all ages, each of us has areas of specialty that we can choose to see most on our caseload (children, BFRB’s, trauma, etc.)

PSYPACT makes it easier for psychologists who live and are licensed outside of New Jersey to work virtually with us!
On November 23, 2021, New Jersey became the 24th state member of the Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact, or PSYPACT.
Now, any psychologist who lives and works in a PSYPACT state and has applied to be a PSYPACT provider no longer needs to go through the process of getting a New Jersey psychology license in order to join SASNJ and see New Jersey clients.
This streamlines the process of your joining our practice and allows you to begin building your caseload of our New Jersey clients immediately upon hire.

SASNJ has been in operation for 30+ years, and our clinical team is comprised of mental health professionals who are experts in our specialized field of practice.
We meet weekly for staff consultation meetings, and connect regularly outside of meetings about our cases.
Benefits of being a part of a team also include built-in therapist coverage when you are sick or on vacation.
Securing Your Position in the New World of Mental Health Services
Our national reputation is invaluable when there are virtual mental health services run by large, multinational companies competing with small private practices for local clients. While these services might not meet the clinical standards of many private practice clinicians, they have the advantage of large advertising budgets, take insurance (something many private clinicians do not), and have the ability to undercut private practice fees. At SASNJ, we charge what we believe our services are worth, because we stand out as a larger, experienced, expert collection of mental health specialists with a national reputation among other mental health professionals. This will continue to serve us well as these far-reaching online services grow and overshadow small independent practitioners.
